Η Βουλή των Ελλήνων για την Ημέρα Φιλελληνισμού και Διεθνούς Αλληλεγγύης

Η 19η Απριλίου, ημέρα θανάτου του Λόρδου Βύρωνα, καθιερώθηκε με το αριθ. 130/2008 Προεδρικό Διάταγμα (ΦΕΚ 191/Α/19.9.2008) ως ημέρα Φιλελληνισμού και Διεθνούς Αλληλεγγύης. Η απόφαση αυτή ελήφθη ύστερα από τη σχετική πρόταση του Προέδρου της Βουλής των Ελλήνων κ. Δημήτρη Σιούφα προς τον αρμόδιο Υπουργό Εσωτερικών κ. Προκόπη Παυλόπουλο.
Με μία ειδική συνεδρίαση της Ολομέλειας και με την έκδοση ενός επετειακού γραμματοσήμου με τον λόρδο Βύρωνα σε ξυλογραφία του Α. Τάσσου, η Βουλή των Ελλήνων, τίμησε την Παρασκευή 8 Μαΐου 2009, την ημέρα Φιλελληνισμού και Διεθνούς Αλληλεγγύης.
